Awareness: Our vitality suffers when information is not crossing from the right hemisphere of the brain to the left side of the body and vice versa. Communication among energy systems can become cacophonous when neurological signals are scrambled (disturbance that can be restored by doing Donna Eden's Wayne Cook exercise). Scrambled signals and energies struggling to crossover the body are often the result of ongoing daily stress responses. Restoring the crossover patterns and neurological organization clears communication between energy systems, and helps us access our vast potential for self-healing and renewal.
Laurel Camden (Eden Energy Medicine Certification Program Faculty member and Advanced Practitioner) teaches a way to re-establish the crossover patterns of the body by tracing sideways figure 8s on the face around the eyes. I find that the following adaptation of that exercise tends to provide the benefits of both the Homolateral Correction and the Wayne Cook exercise that are part of Donna Eden's Daily Energy Routine. This works well for me, and many I work with, and if it doesn't help enough I try other methods to invite balance.

Practice:
1. Sitting or standing, I cross my ankles, rest one hand on my opposite hip, and with my other hand I use my first and second fingers to gently trace slow figure eights from the point between my eyes, up around one eyebrow, under and around the eye, crossing between the eyebrows again and continuing up and around the other side. I trace several figure 8s while breathing in a slow, deep and relaxed way, in through the nose and out through the mouth. It feels very centering to keep my attention on the sensation of my fingertips where they touch my face.
2. For the last several patterns, I widen the 8 pattern, keeping the center crossing point of the eight between the eyes, and the outside curve travels from the top of the ear, close behind the ear, and back under the eyes to the center. This has the effect of engaging Triple Warmer, the fight-flight warrior meridian, to lend its powerful ability to set this harmonious repatterning as a new habit.
3. Then I repeat the exercise with ankles crossed the other way, my other hand crossing to rest on the other hip, and my free hand tracing the figure eight patterns. It feels more potent when I breathe deeply and easily, and relax all muscles that are not being used to trace the 8s.
Mindful Focus:
My inner physician brings wisdom and infinite resources for my joyful well-being.
My mind is at peace with order and clarity.
My thinking is calm focused and clear.
Happiness blooms within my heart.
Peace spreads throughout my being.
Vibrant Communications arose when working with someone who had limited mobility in one arm. I suggested trying this, synthesizing it as I went, and it was nice how quickly it restored crossover patterning as well as the Wayne Cook exercise effects, just doing it with one side (without repeating the set using the other hand). Another person remarked that, after doing a couple of minutes of this exercise, she felt more deeply relaxed than she had all day, even after meditating.
I feel a lot of deep sighs when I use the Vibrant Communications exercise, my signal that energies are shifting and settling into harmony. I'm not suggesting this to always replace the Homolateral Correction or the Wayne Cook exercises, because they work wonders ... I'm sharing something I found that might be useful as well.
Warmly,
Lyn
The Homolateral Crossover Correction and the Wayne Cook Exercise are both taught by Donna Eden as part of her recommended Daily Energy Routine.
