Here's a great little story my friend and former EEM student Claudia Alvarez invited me to share:
~~~
A couple of months ago, I was trying to put to nap my 22 months old toddler, but he was jumping and singing and doing everything but going to sleep. After I tried 30 min. I decided to let him go, but he insist: "to sleep mom" so I stayed with him next to his crib, and he started to jump again.
One hour of his "sleepy mom" and jumping I was frustrated and angry, so I yelled to him.. "go to sleep now" but he laughed.
Finally I took him out of his crib but he said again.."to sleep mom." I was so angry at that time that I yelled again "Ok, if you want to sleep, why don't you sleep?!!!"
He looked at me and made the baby sign of Angry..
I said, "Yes, I'm mad because you won't nap and we are losing our time."
He looked at me and started doing the Expelling the Venom exercise and grabbed my hands so I'd do it too. So I did (laughing a little bit). I took him out of the crib and went to play. After 20 min. he fell asleep.
It was a nice reminder of my son to keep doing my EEM. Kids really know, we just have to listen to them :D.
Thanks, Claudia, for sharing this beautiful story. I love seeing children engage energy medicine exercises so easily. Energy medicine is so natural.
Sometimes as adults we get between ourselves and our energies... but children have no such confusion.
I love being alive in this world of energy. I love the wisdom that ripples through every aspect of this dynamic energy experience. It's great sharing this living, breathing energy exchange with you all.
May your attention return again and again to the beauty and flexibility of your energies... for a fluid, vibrant, creative, joyous, loving, abundant life.
munay,
Barbara
