There are potent points on the body that are portals into our energy systems, doorways that open deeply into the body and interrelate with all other body energies. We can interact with these points by stimulating them with circular massage, holding our fingertips on them, and tapping or thumping to awaken and revitalize them. Attention to specific energies evokes their response and enlivening. When these doors open, the whole system is more receptive to shifting into greater balance.

Kidney-27 Points
Awareness: The Kidney Meridian brings up electromagnetic life force from the Earth to nourish and renew our own. It begins on the soles of the feet and travels to the chest, where it stimulates the flow of vitality throughout the meridian system.
Practice: We locate these endpoints of the Kidney meridian by following the collarbones to their inner corners, and drop under and just to the outside of these points. Deeply rub and/or tap the points with the fingertips.
Mindful Focus:
I draw up from the Earth the spirit of life,
Through the soles of my feet,
Filling each cell with light.
I step forward into each moment with courage and vitality.
I am renewed and strong.

Thymus Gland
Awareness: The thymus gland is a primary part of our immune system, creating white blood cells that eliminate pathogens. The immune system's creative ability to isolate and remove what is not harmonious with our health is a beautiful metaphor for sorting through what seems to make us who we are, and discovering our most genuine self within.
Practice: Tap or rub the center of the sternum, or hold fingertips over this point about 3" or 4" below the collarbones in the center of the chest. The thymus gland lives behind this doorway point.
Mindful Focus:
My immune system recognizes and supports my true self.
It is intelligent, strong, and resilient.
As I shed all that is not-me,
My authentic Self has more space to express through me.

Spleen Meridian Points
Awareness: The Spleen Meridian acts as our grand metabolizer, processing what we eat, our thoughts, our reactions to experiences, and our emotions. The Yin aspect of the Earth Element, Spleen helps us to feel we belong in our lives on this Earth, in the home of our bodies, and that life is beautiful.
Practice: In a line between the nipple and the bottom of the rib cage, locate the Spleen meridian tapping points about 2" above the bottom of the rib cage. Or, trace from these points to alternate points found at the sides of the ribcage in line with the armpits.
Mindful Focus:
I adapt with ease
I embrace change with grace
I return to balance effortlessly
I'm at home in every place
I'm in love with my life, and Life Is Good.

Stomach Meridian Points
Awareness: The Stomach Meridian embodies the Yang aspect of the Earth Element, and traverses the body from the face down to the feet, supplying one of our strongest grounding forces. When we are well-grounded, we naturally move from chronic worry towards trust in the process of life.
Practice: Find these points on the cheekbones about 2" below the center of the eyes. With first and second fingers together, tap firmly so the fingertips bounce.
Mindful Focus:
My roots reach deeply into the Earth,
Carrying away worry,
Bringing me home to trust the journey of my life.

The Four Thumps can be done any time, and are a great way to begin any other energy work, including a daily self-care practice. I feel more dimensions of effect when I put my heart into the words, instead of simply reciting them. I change the wording of my Mindful Focus verses whenever feel like it, and I encourage you to write your own (if you like adding affirmations too), using words that are most meaningful to you.
Warmly,
Lyn
