Energy in Harmony is the name I call my Energy Medicine business. It is also my intention or mantra for how I am with myself and with others, in my everyday life and in my work.
About 12 years ago I took a two-year Hakomi body-mind psychotherapy training. We were introduced to the concept of “tracking” at the time. Tracking in Hakomi terms means paying close attention to our own body and inner sense to notice any physical or emotional responses that come up in our interaction with a partner or in response to a verbal or physical contact. Hakomi embraces the Buddhist practice of Mindfulness meditation, a part of the non-judgmental internal and relational exploration we practiced in class.
I have found these concepts of tracking and mindfulness also very important in the practice of Eden Energy Medicine. The duet of my energy with the client’s in the context of an Energy Medicine session is an opportunity to harmonize what each of us brings to the table that day. As a veteran professional caregiver, it is second nature for me to comfort and support others. I am more mindful, more engaged and more connected in my world when I can also track my own energy and respond compassionately to any needs.
It’s harvest time. There were berries, corn, peaches and tomatoes in the City Market yesterday. Visiting the Market is one of the things I do that makes me happy. There’s something about all that abundance that puts into context any perceived deprivations of the week. I get to choose whatever I want to eat for the week and I feel nourished.
As you grow in your experience of Eden Energy Medicine, may you expand your awareness of the things that nourish you!
