I am very intrigued and smitten with the energies of joy. They have an entire energy system all their own appropriately called the “Radiant Circuits”. Each of the 10 radiant circuits has its own pathway, but when activated and “turned on” they jump their paths and zing through our body, connect with other energies and create a light show for those who see energy. But whether you see the radiant circuits or not, you can surely feel them. For example, when you see someone you love that you haven’t seen for awhile your joy circuits engage and you feel a thrill of happiness that pulses through you! When you view an awe inspiring sunset or touch into a deeply reverent feeling, your radiant circuits engage. Children, puppies (and other animals), and connection with nature all have a way of activating our radiant circuits.
Sadly, in our stress-filled modern day culture we get bogged down in deadlines, “to do” lists, days filled with busy-ness, discordancies, and general stress. Our radiant circuits sink down into a state of inactivity. Sometimes we even forget how to play and laugh and we actually lose the habit of joy. Our radiant circuits become forgotten and dormant.
I had a recent client, Bridget, who came to me with stage 4 colon cancer, a young vibrant woman of 33 years, a writer of fiction for teenage girls and a woman filled with curiosity, humor, fun and creativity. I saw her just a few times but when I saw her last, I knew she was probably going to cross over soon. She had trouble breathing, her body was swollen tight with fluids, her face was stretched and strained and I could tell that her body was nearing the end of its physical journey. Despite the gloomy picture, when I assessed her energies, I was amazed and delighted to find that ALL her radiant circuits were happily engaged. I was deeply touched. I did comforting things for her and we had a wonderful visit. Shortly thereafter, she acquired pneumonia and died within a short time in the hospital. But what truly warmed my heart was the fact that her joy was streaming and pulsing through her energies till the very end. It probably helped her transition go more smoothly. This brave young woman has been in my thoughts every single day.
I want my radiant joyful energy to be alive and well in my body. I want to be in a state of grace and joy regardless of my external challenges and deadlines. I believe that despite despairing news and world events, despite our own personal challenges and difficulties, despite all that wants to pull us down into stress and negativity, WE CAN HAVE JOY! Donna Eden says “we are hard-wired for joy”. I truly believe it. I cling to it.
Here is a piece of art, created in honor of my dear client Bridget by Johanna Wright. This captures her magical essence and it captures the energy of joy. Joy is a place where I want to live and radiant circuits are the paths that lead me there! I am inspired by Bridget!
This is what Barrett (Bridget’s husband) has to say about the art piece. “I am delighted to share this post with all of you. Johanna Wright, Portland author and illustrator, has created a new painting In Memory of Bridget Zinn that has touched me deeply. This painting is available as a print to everyone who covets Johanna’s work or loved Bridget. Johanna is donating the proceeds to the Friends of the Cooperative Children’s Book Center (CCBC). Please visit Johanna’s Etsy page to purchase your print.” (Permission given by Johanna Wright to post her art.)
Barret gave his full permission to post this blog and use Bridget's name.
In Joy, Kathy Chambers
Wow Kathy,
This is such a sad but beautiful story!:)I agree with you, our bodys will crack and falter in time but energetically noone can take her happiness away,,or yours, helping others to attain this would be the greatest gift to the living soul, thats a story of inner peace to say the least!
What a wonderful thing to donate and push towards CCBC, it sounds as if hubby is living out her last wishes!:) Beautiful.
