I am proud mama of lovely boy/girl twins. One day we were hosting a playdate with another set of twins in our neighborhood - two boys. The four kids were happily playing outside, and judging by the noise level, I'd guess they were playing a bit roughly. Sure enough, I hear hollering and before I can investigate, my daughter comes streaking into the house, heading to her room. She runs back past me, smiling, assuring me that all is well, and goes back outside.
When I go out to investigate, I see her spinning the small, spherical crystal I had once given her over the hand of her playmate. His hand had gotten stepped on in the course of play, and she was helping him feel better. He immediately stopped crying in amazement. She informed him that "it's a little hard to explain, but it helps break up congested energy."
Then the boys' dad arrived to pick the kids up. I can only imagine the conversation in the car on the way home. I'll admit to feeling a mixture of pride in my kid and a frisson of concern over what the other family will think of us. All part of integrating alternative healing practices in a mainstream community.
That is why they are known as alternative, I suppose.
Peace,
Shannon
Oh this is just lovely! To grow up with a solid knowing that we are all healers, and our own inner healer is our best doctor.

This is great, Shannon! Your children are radiant and what a blessing they are to have this knowledge under their belts at this age. Great job, mamma. Keep up the great work.
With love ~
