I took these photos on a recent trip to Colorado and Utah. I learn my greatest lessons by observing what Nature has to teach me. Here are a few...
I learn about power and strength from the Stone People.

I learn tenacity from this tree rooted in bedrock.

A couple of years ago I was a participant in a group hiking trip to central Oregon that included a hike to the headwaters of the Metolius River. The headwaters were impressive to me as the river seemed to appear in full majesty out of nothing. Upon closer examination and upon reading about it and hearing from knowledgeable hikers, I was fascinated to learn that this powerful river starts from what looks like “nothing” but a bubbling of water coming out of the ground, a wellspring. Actually there are 2 springs about 300 feet apart that gush forth 50,000 gallons of water per minute and thus create this 29 mile flowing river. I was truly amazed and still wonder at the sight of it.

I had been wanting bees and they came! A swirling swarm arrived in my yard a few weeks ago. After a few hours of chaotic buzzing, they settled into a swarm “ball” in a small tree’s branch. I observed them for a few days and then someone said they were in grave danger of flying off and landing in an unfriendly yard where they might get sprayed. That propelled me into action. I purchased an arsenal of bee supplies....bee boxes (brood chambers), “supers” for honey, beekeeping tools, a full bee protection outfit, a smoker and so forth. I put on my bee protection suit and bravely transferred the bees from the tree branch into their new bee box home (not without some excitement on both our parts). I am pleased to report that my bees are now settled in and very busily engaged...crawling out of their box, flying off, returning with pollen-laden bodies, coming and going all day long. It is a humming hive and I am thrilled!

I am very intrigued and smitten with the energies of joy. They have an entire energy system all their own appropriately called the “Radiant Circuits”. Each of the 10 radiant circuits has its own pathway, but when activated and “turned on” they jump their paths and zing through our body, connect with other energies and create a light show for those who see energy. But whether you see the radiant circuits or not, you can surely feel them. For example, when you see someone you love that you haven’t seen for awhile your joy circuits engage and you feel a thrill of happiness that pulses through you! When you view an awe inspiring sunset or touch into a deeply reverent feeling, your radiant circuits engage. Children, puppies (and other animals), and connection with nature all have a way of activating our radiant circuits.
Sadly, in our stress-filled modern day culture we get bogged down in deadlines, “to do” lists, days filled with busy-ness, discordancies, and general stress. Our radiant circuits sink down into a state of inactivity. Sometimes we even forget how to play and laugh and we actually lose the habit of joy. Our radiant circuits become forgotten and dormant.
